ASICS Onitsuka Tiger

The Japanese footwear brand Onitsuka Tiger has been making trainers for over 60 years since it was founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949. Originally influenced by the sport of basketball the company began designing trainers for the sport to mixed reviews. Undeterred he went back to the drawing board, and revised the design which this time was met with critical acclaim. On the back of this success the company started producing specialised footwear for other sports such as Athletics. Perhaps the most popular trainer the company has ever produced are the Onitsuka Mexico 66 Trainers which are as popular today as they were when they were first released.
