Nike
A global giant within the sports market Nike have become the market leading brand in the design and manufacturing of clothing and footwear for sport. Launched in 1978 as a sports label in its own right, the company had previously been a distributor of athletics footwear around the USA and in particular the Onitsuka Tiger brand from Japan. Nike Trainers or Nike Sneakers as they are known as in the US are the centrepiece of the company's portfolio with footwear made specifically for sports such as athletics and football. In recent years the company has launched a retro collection of footwear aimed at the fashion sector which includes styles such as Nike Cortez.
