Blue leather uppers, trademark adidas three stripes in white with 'Los Angeles' on centre stripe. Los Angeles City graphic to rear of stripes. White synthetic midsole, with light gold outersole. The half-shell toe is derived from the shell toe of the Superstar. Legend has is that US pro basketball players used to cut the top part of the shell toe off to aid flexibility and that adidas responded by producing the half-shell to cater for that market. Whether this is true or not, the Half Shell makes a great alternative to the traditional superstar look.
